Pack Wisely
When packing for your island vacation, focus on versatility. Surprisingly the island offers an enormous range environments from chilly and damp rainforest, to hot and arid desert, to warm and sunny beaches, to wintery mountaintops. Some important pieces to pack would be water-shoes, a variety of cover-ups and an assortment of hats.
Transportation
Smooth Travels
The island offers a variety of transportation means from rental cars, rideshare and public transportation. If your overnight accommodations are not in or nearby the Wailea, Kihei, Paia or Lahaina areas then your best means for transportation is a rental car. It is very difficult and very costly to use rideshare to and from remote locations of the island.

Some of the most authentic culinary experiences can be found on the side of the road with locally owned food trucks. Always have cash on-hand because some only accept cash.
